NWGIC Postgraduate Research Scholarships 2009
Charles Sturt University’s National Wine & Grape Industry Centre (NWGIC) is offering two scholarships to undertake full-time postgraduate research degrees in an area that aligns with the Centre’s four major programs:
· Vine Health & Vine Environment
- Survey and Integrated Management of Bot canker
- Non-Botrytis Bunch rots
- Young Vine Decline
· Seasonal Impacts on Productivity & Grape Composition
- Heat Stress
- Vine Nutrition
- Vascular Transport
· Optimising Resource use & Protecting the Environment
- Improving Vineyard WUE
- Predictive Modelling of Grapevine Production using Remote Sensing Techniques
· Matching Wine Composition to Consumers
- Initiating Viticulture Activities
- Initiating Flavour and Aroma Analysis
- Establish Sensory Trials for Hunter Semillon
- Initiate Consumer Sensory Work
The NWGIC is developing research around the above themes, drawing together researchers from different disciplines and partner organisations.
We seek expressions of interest from prospective postgraduate students to undertake research in any of the above research areas.
The research will contribute to NWGIC’s nationally recognised research programs which emphasise collaborations with industry and community stakeholders.

* Scholarship details:
· Only available to Australian citizens or permanent residents
· Student must be enrolled full-time in a research higher degree
· Enrolment must commence in Autumn session 2009
· Scholarship is $20,007 (maximum per annum) (2008 rate) plus tuition fees and some travel.
