"This study has enabled a group of people 'to tell it how it is, in their own words', and it is to be commended for doing so." Professor David Cox, La Trobe University.
The book provides an excellent addition to the literature on poverty and rurality. The views of rural people living in poverty are presented with disarming frankness. The book challenges us to acknowledge the extent of rural pverty, to understand the circumstances of those living in poverty, and to work towards acceptable solutions that create an improved quality of life for rural people.
