Research Information Management System
Overview
ResearchMaster Enterprise (RME) is a complete research project management system, enabling Charles Sturt University to collect, store and manage a range of research project management information for researchers, managers, administrators, higher degree research students and supervisors. This is achieved through a variety of products in the RME Suite, which will be implemented progressively over the next 12-18 months.
RME enables integration of information relating to research activity, facilitating access and reporting. The first stage to be launched is MyResearch.
MyResearch - Web interface for viewing project related information. Intended audience for this product are Researchers and Organisational Unit Managers and Administrators. Please refer to the GUIDES for instructions and guidelines for interpretation of information.
Available modules
For Researchers
Projects - A complete view of project related information, right from application stage through to completion of research projects and non-research activities. The module enables the researcher to view all pertinent details about research projects and non-research activities in which they are involved.
Reporting - A tool for providing reporting capability within MyResearch. The tool is LIVE and accessible by Researchers only at this stage. More reports will be designed and made available through this module as time goes on.
For Organisational Unit Managers and Administrators
Projects - Same view as the Researchers with an additional capacity of viewing all projects involving staff members affiliated with the Organisational Unit, as determined by employee and employment information sourced from Alesco, CSU's Human Resources Information System.
Personnel - Allows the Manager/Administrator to view basic employee details (i.e. Staff Number, Name, Gender, Title of the position held) for staff members affiliated with the Organisational Unit.
Integration Elements
HR Feeder
Interfaces with CSU's Human Resources Information System (Alesco) to draw upon its employee related information. Alesco remains the single point of truth for all employee related information and any corrections to this information should be referred to the HR Service Centre (hr@csu.edu.au)
Finance Feeder
Interfaces with CSU's Finance Information System (Banner Finance) to draw upon project related financial information, including budgets and transactions. Banner Finance remains the single point of truth for all project related financial information and any corrections to this information should be referred to Finance.
Future Outlook
While the Projects and Personnel modules have been implemented, and are fully operational, ongoing work is being carried out to implement the HDR Student, Online Ethics and Publications modules. Please keep an eye on this page for updates.
Security
Data security has been paramount in our efforts to implement RME within CSU and utilises CSU's Identity Management Systems. CSU staff are all able to view their own records. Higher levels of access must be applied for by emailing your request to research@csu.edu.au, with endorsement of the Unit Head (such as Head of School or Centre Director).
