Knowledge Management & Capacity Building
THIS PROJECT underpins the entire Winegrowing Futures program. It will promote a consistent approach across all research themes to ensure prompt and effective delivery of research benefits to national industry groups. The project team is already working on a communication strategy involving mass media, adult eduction, success story case studies and field demonstrations.
It will also:
- Establish the benefits of the R&D investment through a recognised economic evaluation process.
- Identify knowledge and skills gaps to aid further development of targeted research delivery outcomes
- Establish a focus on regional industry adjustment processes
The project team will include the national coordinator of viticulture extension and knowledge management. The national coordinator will oversee the seamless delivery of extension approaches through state agencies and industry groups, build relationships with key partners (grower associations, research and education providers, wine companies and makers) and develop production guidelines that link on-farm practices to end quality specifications.
To allow grassroots grower ownership of research outputs, the project will continue on-farm extension activities, based on the Viticare trials concept established in the CRCV.
