- 'The Edge of Change: On the Emergence, Persistence and Dissolution of Practices'.
A public lecture [.pdf] at RIPPLE presented by world renowned philosopher of practice Professor Theodore Schatzki. Abstract - This essay identifies the locus and basic dimensions of change in social practices. Changes in social practices are fundamental to changes in social life more broadly. This is because social phenomena are bundles of practices and material arrangements. The account presented here embraces (1) general propositions about human activities, practices, and practice-arrangement bundles and (2) an enumeration of key aspects and components of the emergence, persistence, and dissolution of such bundles.

- A primer on practices. A public lecture [.pdf] at the Education for Practice Institute (EFPI) presented by world renowned philosopher of practice Professor Theodore Schatzki. This paper begins by discussing practice theory generally but mostly gives an introduction to Professor Schatzki's own key theoretical ideas. The topics addressed are practices, activities, and social phenomena, with special attention to temporality and the unfolding of practices. The chapter concludes with comments about conducting research on practices. The paper aims to provide practice theoretical stimulation to readers interested in practice-based education and research.

'A shared early childhood development research agenda: Key research gaps 2010-2015'
Final report to the Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY)
A final report investigating research gaps in early childhood was submitted to ARACY in early March. The report was authored by RIPPLE members Linda Harrison, Jennifer Sumsion, Fran Press and Sandie Wong, along with Loraine Fordham and Joy Goodfellow. The report was commissioned by ARACY and funded by the Australian Government Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR). It mapped current research on early childhood development in six priority areas, and identified gaps, especially those related to government policies. Well done to the research team on the tremendous work that went into compiling this report. Report available.
