Practice in Education, Work, Wellbeing & Society

PEWWS is a research group within the Research Institute for Professional Practice, Learning and Education (RIPPLE). RIPPLE is a multi-disciplinary research institute that conducts strategic and applied research and consultations in the field of practice and the nexus between practice, learning and education.

Goal

To foster research and scholarship about confluences among Practice in Education, Work, Wellbeing and Society.

About PEWWS

PEWWS research and scholarship is conducted in a frame of reference that recognises:

  • the human issues of Practice in Education, Work, Wellbeing and Society including ethics, rights and responsibilities
  • a critical social science and social justice perspective
  • human phenomena as socio-cultural, historical constructions, lived experiences and interpretations
  • practice as doing, knowing, being and becoming
  • the duality of work and enquiry
  • the social responsibility goal of education
  • learning, change, capability and agency as core dimensions of practice, education, work and society
  • learning, work and practice operating in communities of practice
  • the value of multiple constructed realities
  • the richness of transdisciplinarity in practice and discourse
  • the value of creating healthy people spaces
