Quantitative Methods Consulting Unit
Following a consultation process, the University will continue to operate a Quantitative Consulting Unit in 2008. It is located in the School of Computing and Mathematics.
The substantive demand for the QMCU service exists within the Faculty of Science and discussions with the Dean, Faculty of Science, has indicated that, in the first instance, a system in which a statistics/mathematics consultant is available one day per week for appointments would probably meet the needs of his Faculty.
A schedule of consultations charges for Research Higher Degree Students (which can be funded from the annual resource allocation) and for funded research projects will be developed and promulgated.
The operation of this activity will be reviewed during 2008 to identify any changes that might be needed depending on demand for the services.
