CSU has developed a TAFE specific scholarship program called the CSU 'TAFE to University' Scholarship, available to our TAFE partners and NSW TAFE Institutes.
24 Scholarships valued at $2,500 (fulltime value) for one year, are available to students studying (or have completed) a Diploma or Advanced Diploma at one of the following participating CSU partner TAFE Institutes:
- TAFE NSW Riverina Institute
- TAFE NSW Western Institute
- Canberra Institute of Technology
- TAFE NSW Northern Sydney Institute
- TAFE NSW North Coast Institute
- Wodonga Institute of TAFE
- Sunraysia Institute of TAFE
- Goulburn Ovens Institute of TAFE
Plus, an additional 8 scholarships are available to any other TAFE NSW student who meets our scholarship eligibility criteria.
How to Apply
To apply for a CSU 'TAFE to University' Scholarship;
- please read the CSU 'TAFE to University' Scholarship Guidelines to ensure you meet the eligibility criteria; and
- download and complete the Application form: Application Form (pdf doc)
- provide the relevant supporting documentation; and
- submit your application to Charles Sturt University (submission details are included in the application form); and
- please refer to the Key Dates below for important dates.
- LATE applications will be accepted provided there is sufficient scholarship quota available.
Who is eligible to receive a CSU 'TAFE to University' Scholarship?
To be eligible for a CSU 'TAFE to University' Scholarship in 2012, a student must:
- a currently enrolled TAFE student, must have completed a TAFE Diploma or Advanced Diploma at one of the participating TAFE Institutes at the end of 2011 OR have completed a Diploma or Advanced Diploma from one of the participating TAFE Institutes within the last five years; and
- be a commencing student at CSU in 2012, i.e. entering their first session of study at CSU; and
- provide a certified copy of transcripts, showing the completion of the Diploma or Advanced Diploma, if these were not supplied with application; and
- Please refer to the Guidelines and Application Form for further information on the Eligibility Criteria and Academic level achieved; and
- be an Australian citizen, or a permanent Australian resident, or the holder of a permanent humanitarian visa or a temporary protection visa; and
- not have completed a previous university undergraduate (or equivalent) course; and
- not be in receipt of other scholarships greater than the value of $6,194; and
- by the Census Date in commencing session, be enrolled part-time*; or full-time** in an undergraduate Commonwealth Supported (i.e. HECS or HECS-HELP) course at CSU.
*A part-time student is one who is enrolled in one or two subjects per session, which equates to 8 or 16 subject points per session.
**A full time student is one who is enrolled to undertake an amount of study of at least three quarters (or 75%) of an equivalent full-time study load (EFTSL). At CSU this equates to being enrolled in three or more (8 point) subjects or 24 subject points or more, per session.

The CSU 'TAFE to University' Scholarship Guidelines contain information about how the University will operate the Scholarship program. They also contain detailed information about the eligibility criteria, offer and payment procedures and what is required of a student if they are successful.

| 25 November 2011 to 31 January 2012 | "2nd Round" Applications OPEN. Applications will be assessed and Outcome Application Notice send within 2 weeks of application received. Offer acceptance deadline is 2 weeks from offer letter. |
| 9 December 2011 | Outcome Notice sent to "1st Round" applicants. |
| 13 January 2011 | Acceptance DEADLINE for "1st Round" scholarship offers. |
| 31 January 2011 | "2nd Round" Applications CLOSE. |
Under special circumstances late applications will be accepted if scholarship quota is available.
