On behalf of the NSW Rail Corporation and NSW State Transit Authority, the University issues Student Travel Concession stickers to full-time internal domestic students for concession travel in NSW. New students must complete the application form and return it with your acceptance.
The sticker will then be attached to your Student ID Card prior to collection during Orientation.
Continuing students need to apply in person through Student Central.
Students resident in Victoria must apply for a separate Victorian travel concession available from V/Line or any Victorian metropolitan railway station.
Stickers must be renewed every year.
Conditions of Issue and Use
To be eligible for student concession travel you must:
- Be a full time student, attending day classes;
- Be aged 16 years or more (excluding school pupils aged 16, 17, or 18 years);
- Be fully engaged in your studies;
- Not be engaged in business or employment;
- Not receive any remuneration (scholarships and allowances such as Austudy and the Youth Allowance are not counted as
remuneration); - Not be a full fee paying overseas student.
When you use your concession travel privilege you must:
- Always carry your card, and show it when buying your ticket or when asked by any authorised Rail Corporation, State Transit Authority staff member;
- Not give or lend your card to any other person.
- As the CSU Card has no expiry date, you may be required to carry proof of enrolment with you when you travel.
Full fare must be paid if you are unable to produce your card.
You must not obtain student concession travel if you can no longer comply with the eligibility conditions above.
Providing false information or any breach of the conditions above could render you liable for prosecution.
To obtain a travel concession sticker please take your student card and proof of full time on-campus enrolment in person to your local campus Student Administration Office, who will provide an application form for you to complete.
