Introducing A Companion to the Australian Media

In this presentation I will outline the rationale behind my new ARC-funded project (2008-2012), 'From Print to the Internet: The Media in Australia since 1803'. Its centrepiece, A Companion to the Australian Media, is designed to bring together the expertise of individuals interested in building professional and community knowledge of the media's role in Australian society. I will explain the envisaged structure and shape of the Companion, and the industry and academic collaboration required to successfully execute the project. This will be an interactive presentation, with questions and suggestions encouraged.
