The Foundation was established with the sole purpose of providing a fabric of support for the University, its students, and their educational activities.
Established in 1982, The Foundation is a non-profit independent company affiliated to the University, that acts as Trustee for a number of funds on all of its campuses.
The Foundation makes an outstanding contribution to the University and its students. It is involved in providing funding for a range of activities including a capital development program, internships, guest lectureships, cooperative research projects and a scholarship scheme.
The Foundation aids and promotes excellence in the education, research and service activities of Charles Sturt University by seeking, receiving and administering private sponsorship for the benefit of the University. The Foundation provides donors the opportunity to support projects and programs that are beyond the scope of the University's general budget.
One such program is our Scholarship scheme, which, through valuable support and contributions from both industry and individuals, has assisted more than 1,600 students to complete their studies since its establishment in 1984. With scholarship payments of more than $500,000 in 2004, the total amount allocated to scholarships now stands in excess of $4,000,000.
The Foundation is registered as a Charity independent of the University, and as such has endorsement as an Income Tax Exempt Charity and a Deductible Gift Recipient. The Company has an Australian Business Number, and a Tax File Number. All donations to the Foundation are tax deductible.
Individuals and organisations who are interested in supporting higher education in general, and higher education at Charles Sturt University in particular, can do so through the Charles Sturt Foundation. The Foundation provides a vehicle to assist in making sponsorship simple and straight-forward. If you are considering sponsorship for the University, please contact the Foundation
