FOUNDATION PROGRAMS

TheCharles Sturt Foundation has many programs that enhance University lifeand the educational experiences of its students.

Funded positions

Donors to the Foundation have provided financial support to fund the salaryof an academic position for a specified period of time.

Cooperative research projects

Some donors have supported research projects at the University. Some ofthese have involved cooperation with the sponsoring company.

Capital development

Some donors have contributed funds through the Foundation to the University's capital worksprogram  both in the construction of the Centre for Professional Developmentand the CD Blake Auditorium.

The former facility is used by both Charles Sturt Universityand outside clients for conferences and accommodation.

The latter is a multi-purpose facility, that catersfor graduation and other large ceremonies as well as housing a gymnasium,basketball courts and offices.

Bequests

Some donors have left part of their estate in their wills to support programsat the University.

Internships

Some scholarships include the opportunity for work experience and internshipswith the sponsoring organisation offering a unique opportunity to receiveincome while gaining valuable industry experience.

Guest lectureships

Donors to the Foundation may be  invited to present guest lectures and workshopsto students that provide valuable insights to the industry they represent.

Scholarship scheme

Our Scholarship scheme, through valuable support and contributions from both industry and individuals, has assisted more than 1,600 students to completetheir studies since its establishment in 1984. With scholarship payments of more than $500,000 in 2004, the total amount allocated to scholarships now standsin excess of  $4,000,000.
