Accommodation:

On campus Accommodation is available at UFV Baker House Residence. This housing offers separate bedrooms with shared living areas, kitchen and bathroom. Off campus accommodation with a host family or private rental apartment is also available.

Study Permit/Visa info:

In order to enter Canada to study at the University of the Fraser Valley, you may need a "Temporary Resident Visa" (this allows you to enter Canada), and a "Study Permit" (This allows you to study whilst in Canada and may also make you eligible to participate in the free medical insurance plan). These documents are obtained from the Canadian Embassy, Canadian Consulate General or Canadian High Commission in your country.

Health Insurance:

International students are required to have health insurance for the entire duration of their studies at UFV.?? Students who will be resident in Canada for more than 6 months are required by law to take out the British Columbia Medical Services Plan (MSP).
Students who will be staying in Canada for less than 6 months will not be eligible for MSP insurance although they will have to obtain alternative health cover.

Exchange student support services:

UFV International can arrange to have you picked up at the Vancouver International Airport (YVR) and taken to your accommodation by the Language Limousine transportation service. Orientation services for international students take place 1 week before classes commence and provide information on the services, activities, and resources available on campus.

  • Housing: $4000CDN
  • Meal Plan: not available
  • Text Books & Supplies: $500CDN
  • Health Insurance $260 for one semester (UFV plan)
