Vision of the Centre for Inland Health:

Health for all people of inland Australia.

Mission of the Centre for Inland health:

To play a lead role in improving the health and longevity of people from inland Australia. We will accomplish this mission as people from inland Australia, working together for inland Australia.

Goals of the Centre for Inland Health:

  1. To determine approaches that will improve health outcomes for inland communities.
  2. To establish solutions that will reduce avoidable morbidity in inland communities.

Strategic objectives of the Centre for Inland Health, through cooperation between participating entities:

  1. To promote its vision of health for all people of inland Australia, as a responsive, integrated and inclusive element of the community;
  2. To ascertain and periodically review the health status of inland communities and key influences on this health status;
  3. To ascertain and periodically review important health needs, challenges and strengths of inland communities;
  4. To establish and regularly review the priority themes for Centre R&D, which will best serve the health needs of inland communities;
  5. To establish, promote, support, monitor and coordinate collaborative programs of R&D, across collaborating entities of the Centre;
  6. To identify, publish, disseminate and provide access to resources, information, and education, which will empower and improve the health of inland communities;
  7. To advocate on behalf of the Centre's constituency and inland communities, to secure required resources, action and policy change;
  8. To build the capacity of collaborating entities and the Centre to meet inland community needs for health R&D; and
  9. To support and establish new entities required to meet key health needs of inland communities.
