Genevieve Bodkin - Flute

BA (Creative), Grad Dip Ed, A Mus A

Genevieve has been playing the flute since the age of nine. In 1998, she completed a Bachelor of Creative Arts, majoring in performance at The University of Wollongong. She has a Graduate Diploma in Education and an A Mus A Genevieve has studied flute with notable Australian performers including Laura Chislett, Nolene Poole, Emma Knott and Virginia Taylor.

In addition, she has played flute with the Canberra Youth Orchestra's Wind Ensemble, which performed at The Adelaide Festival of Arts. Genevieve has played alto and bass flutes with the highly successful Wollongong Conservatorium Flute Choir. In 1998 this group won every competition they entered including the 1st Australian Flute Choir competition. Genevieve has also performed in pit orchestras for musicals such as 'Guys and Dolls and '42nd Street'. She has won many prizes at eisteddfods in both solo and chamber music sections, including the Sydney Performing Arts Challenge; Macarthur, Wollongong and Leeton Eisteddfods.
