Geoffrey Xeros - Piano

Geoffrey Xeros is an accomplished young pianist who has received numerous prizes, awards, and scholarships through various eisteddfods and championships since he began playing the piano at the age of seven. In 2005 Geoffrey graduated from the Australian National University School of Music, where as a National Undergraduate Scholar he completed his Bachelor of Music with First Class Honours. Geoffrey's teachers have included John Luxton and Keith Radford. He has also performed for Geoffrey Lancaster, Geoffrey Tozer, Larry Sitsky, and Susanne Powell. In 2004 he won the People's Choice Prize in the Margaret Smiles Accompaniment Competition; in 2005 he was a joint winner of the same competition. Geoffrey has performed throughout NSW and the ACT, including Government House.

Geoffrey is also the pianist for the contemporary chamber music ensemble 'dominant SEVEN'. In 2003 this ensemble won the People's Choice Prize and First Prize at the ANU Chamber Music Competition. Since then this Canberra based ensemble has toured throughout Australia, including an invitation to perform at the internationally acclaimed Darwing International Guitar Festival in 2005. 'dominant SEVEN' regularly commissions and performs new works by Australian composers.

In 2006 Geoffrey joined the piano staff at the Riverina Conservatorium of Music. In addition to his role as a music educator, Geoffrey is an accomplished solo performer and chamber musician. He is an official accompanist for the Riverina Conservatorium of Music.
