Dress requirements
The College has strict rules relating to dress and these have been developed to ensure students' safety during physical training and other day to day activities that are part of their studies.
You should note that the following are not permitted:
- Sleeveless tops, Midriff tops, T-shirts, Football tops
- Thongs, Joggers or high-heeled shoes
- Jeans
- Clothing with offensive language thereon,
- Outlandish hairstyles
During lectures and tutorials
- All attire should be modest
- Males: Neat pants or similar, casual or leather type shoes, collar & tie
(in winter - jumpers/vests, button/zippered jackets).
- Females: Smart professional/business attire.(including slacks)
During fitness training:
- You are not permitted to wear any jewellery (including wedding rings).
- Women must have their hair tied back in a bun or similar (no ponytails or plaits) with a hair net, bobby pins or navy or black scrunchies only.
- It is recommended that you wear a navy t-shirt and track pants for physical training
- It is strongly recommended that you wear running shoes
Beards:
If you are planning on growing a beard, do so prior to going into uniform. (Once you are in uniform you are not permitted to grow one unless you are on holidays.) Beards must be full beards or moustaches.
When you are in uniform:
As a serving police officer you will not be able to wear any piercing (including earrings) and jewellery will be confined to a wedding ring, a dress ring and a watch.
Students go into uniform part-way through Session 2.
