Scholarship information
A Scholarship details table which outlines details and current values of the scholarships follows this section. Scholarship values are subject to funding and will be confirmed at the same time an offer of admission is made. Scholarships for students with completed tertiary qualifications and/or recognition of current competency are estimates only. These are currently under review for 2006/2007 and subject to change.
Full time on campus
A $100 per week Accommodation Scholarship is currently provided to everyone who studies the Associate Degree in Police Practice full-time on campus (no form required).
Please note that receipt of a scholarship application form does not automatically indicate that the recipient will receive an offer of admission.
Please be aware that about 60% of full-time on campus applicants receive a scholarship. All applicants for the Associate Degree in Policing Practice are encouraged to apply, however the number of scholarships available is limited, and they are awarded on a competitive basis.
Higher Value Scholarships may be awarded to applicants who, due to personal financial circumstances, would otherwise not be able to do the course.
Scholarship forms are sent out from the Admissions Office once both the academic and professional suitability requirements have been met. You need to provide supporting evidence with your scholarship application to show your various mortgage/loan commitments.
Scholarship application forms are to be completed and returned as soon as possible to
Admissions Office Charles Sturt University Locked Bag 676 WAGGA WAGGA NSW 2678
If you are successful in being awarded a scholarship this will be advised in your letter of offer.
You may seek a review of the scholarship decision within 10 days of the offer, by writing to the Admissions Office. Requests will only be considered up to the start of the teaching session.
If you have any questions about scholarships please contact the Admissions Office by telephone on (02) 6933 4334 or by email to admissions@csu.edu.au

Important notes regarding all scholarships
Scholarship applications are competitive and ranked according to need. In order to have your application assessed accurately you should take note of the following guidelines.
- You must provide documentary evidence of all loan commitments, e.g. loan contracts for personal loans or mortgage approval, and it must clearly state the required level of monthly repayments necessary.
- Students who do not receive a scholarship are advised to carefully consider their financial ability to complete the first half of the course. If you undertake the course without adequate financial support, you may need to withdraw at a later date due to insufficient funds. Any costs incurred during a course of incomplete study are your responsibility and will not be reimbursed.
- Students who were unsuccessful in receiving a scholarship in Session 1 may re-apply in Session 2. An unsuccessful scholarship application at the time of offer of admission can only be reviewed at a later date if there has been an exceptional change in circumstances, and is subject to sufficient funds being available.
- For the purposes of AUSTUDY and Centrelink benefits, the scholarship payment is deemed income.
- For the purposes of personal taxation, the scholarship payment is deemed non-taxable income.
- Should a scholarship be awarded, and at some later stage it is found that the student no longer satisfies the professional and academic criteria, the scholarship will be withdrawn.
- You should accurately and truthfully detail your income and expenditure, dependents etc. in order to best compete with other applicants.
