How to apply - Foundation Scholarships
Applications for 2010 are now open.
Applications for Charles Sturt Foundation scholarships must be submitted on-line (except where indicated for a particular scholarship).
IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU READ AND COMPLETE THE FOLLOWING BEFORE PROCEEDING TO THE ON-LINE APPLICATION. CLICK ON THE APPLY ON-LINE LINK BELOW TO SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION.
Your application MAY NOT BE CONSIDERED unless we receive all required documentation.
* Check the selection criteria listed
Check under the specific campus where you are enrolled to ensure there are scholarships for which you are eligible to apply.
* Type the answers to the questions below in a word document
Paste them into your on-line application in the appropriate section. This will avoid any undue stress in the event that you incur problems with the server while you are submitting your on-line application. (Total word count for the three questions combined should total approximately 1,100 words). Clarity of expression and spelling will all be taken into consideration.
YOU MAY EXPERIENCE PROBLEMS WITH THE SERVER TIMING OUT IF YOU TYPE YOUR ANSWERS DIRECTLY INTO THE ON-LINE APPLICATION. IF THIS HAPPENS YOUR APPLICATION WILL NOT BE RECEIVED AND YOU WILL BE REDIRECTED TO THE BEGINNING.
The questions are:
- Community Involvement
Provide three examples of how you have been involved in leadership roles whether within your school, community or university life. What motivated you to become involved in these three activities? What did you achieve?
- Achievement (please use a different
example to the question on Community Involvement)
What has been your greatest achievement? What was involved? What makes this achievement satisfying for you?
- Goals and Motivation
What are the three most important things that you aim to achieve in the next ten years? How do you plan to achieve them?
NB: If you are Indigenous student and only intend to apply for either the Barraamielinga scholarship, the Indyamarra Indigenous scholarships or encourageme nt awards, the Dr Bal Krishan scholarship or the Wagga Wagga LALC and Aboriginal Community scholarship

*Prepare a 2 page resume in a separate word document. The resume can be emailed, posted or delivered. The relevant information will be given when you have completed your on-line application form and can also be found on the 'Contact' page.
* UAI - Commencing Students only
(current or recent {last two years} school leaver - Submit a copy of your UAI - this can be emailed, posted or delivered.
* Recommendation Form
The confidential Recommendation Form (only applicable to commencing students) can be downloaded here . Recent school leavers should give the recommendation form to their referee before the end of the school year to avoid delays over the Christmas break.
* Hardship, personal difficulty or disability
Some scholarships are offered that include hardship, personal difficulty or disability as one of the criteria. Should you be eligible to apply for any of these scholarships, as part of the application process you will be asked to complete a separate Hardship/Disability Form (click here to download the form)
You should ONLY complete the Hardship/Disability Form if you are applying for a scholarship that lists hardship as one of the criteria.
The Form can be emailed, posted or delivered. The relevant information will be given when you have completed your on-line application form and can also be found on the 'Contact' page.
* Additional Essays
Some scholarships require an essay in addition to the three questions above. It is again recommended that you type your essay in a word document and then paste it in to your application in the appropriate section.
* Submitting supporting documentation
Supporting documentation can be emailed, posted or delivered to the addresses that will be listed when you have completed your application and can also be found on the 'Contact' page.
* Completion of Application
At the end of the submission process you wil be given an Application ID which should be included on every additional page that you email, post or deliver.
IF YOU DO NOT RECEIVE AN APPLICATION ID NUMBER AT THE END OF THE SUBMISSION PROCESS PLEASE EMAIL scholarships@csu.edu.au IMMEDIATELY AS THIS MAY INDICATE THAT YOUR APPLICATION HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED.
* Application Acknowledgement
Receipt of your application will be acknowledged by email. If you do not receive an email within one week of submitting your application please email scholarships@csu.edu.au to confirm receipt of your application.
* Outcome of Application
All students will be notified by email of the outcome of their scholarship application. Generally, this will occur in March.
