Introduction to Learning Online- SSS023
Description
The Internet and online technologies have considerably changed conventional approaches to tertiary education and learning at a distance. This subject is designed to allow you to become more familiar with the nature and demands of learning in a virtual or online environment. The key purpose of the subject is to better prepare you to learn proficiently as you actively participate with others in the University’s comprehensive online environment.
Learning activities are intended to promote the development of practical skills and effective approaches that will make the experience of learning online positive and rewarding for you during the course of your university study and beyond. In this subject, you will encounter an open, flexible and supportive learning environment where you are encouraged to demonstrate self-direction in your study approach. Topics covered are student.csu (online gateway to the University), CSU Interact subject sites, locating information sources online, website evaluation, and referencing information sources from the Internet.
The subject is a fully online and self-paced comprising individual study, online learner support, and student interaction and discussion. At least 30 hours of personal study will be required to complete the subject satisfactorily.
