One of the most challenging aspects of writing at university is dealing with the mechanics of academic language. This subject will help you learn many of the skills needed for producing accurate and convincing written work.
Topics you will cover include the role of grammar in communication, parts of speech, writing a grammatically correct sentence, features of an effective paragraph, correct punctuation, and where to find help.
Grammar Essentials for Writing at University is an online, self-paced and interactive subject that will give you the opportunity to work closely with fellow students and the Subject Coordinator in order to develop your confidence in this aspect of your studies.
At least 30 hours of personal study will be required to satisfactorily complete the subject.
