Introduction to Bioscience - SSS025
Description
The aim of this subject is to provide students with foundation material relevant to studies in human bioscience. The subject covers the language of biosciences, an introduction to clinically relevant mathematics, physics and chemistry and an introduction to the human body.
Topics covered: review of basic mathematical principles relevant to biomedical sciences, foundations of chemistry (including elements and atoms, ion formation, chemical reactions), introduction to physics (including flow, resistance, elastance, compliance) structure and formation of cells, primary structure and function of each body system and associated terminology.
