TAFE pathways to university

CSU works closely with TAFE to ensure all students have the opportunity for further study at university. That means you can accelerate your university degree by receiving credit for previous study, or study simultaneously at TAFE and CSU.

Credit transfer

Credit is recognition for prior learning. If you have already received a TAFE qualification, it can count towards a degree program at CSU – even if it’s not directly related to your new studies.
It’s usually assessed on an individual basis, but in general a TAFE diploma will generate credit worth up to 33% of a three-year degree program at CSU. Which means you could graduate with a full Bachelor degree sooner than you think.

Joint study at TAFE and CSU

You can study at TAFE and CSU at the same time through our joint study programs. You simply enrol at TAFE NSW for the qualifications you are interested in. Over time you can gradually take on university study subjects as well. By the end of your third or fourth year, you can graduate with a number of nationally recognised qualifications from both TAFE and CSU.
