It is recommended that you investigate the option of living on-campus as there are benefits to living and learning in a policing environment. However, you need to be prepared that there may be circumstances where living on campus is not an option. Alternative arrangements can then be sourced through private accommodation available in the City of Goulburn, details of which can be obtained by contacting Campus Management 02 4828 8722.
The NSW Police College’s residential capacity for Associate Degree in Policing Practice students is limited, and can sometimes fall short of anticipated enrolments.
On-campus accommodation is provided at the NSW Police College at Goulburn at a cost of $100 per week, which includes meals (seven days a week). You will be given more information on how to apply for the accommodation if you are made an offer into the Associate Degree in Policing Practice.
The rooms are comfortable, with a bed, study area and wardrobe. There are shared bathrooms and common rooms. There are no cooking facilities and all meals are provided in the dining hall.
Students can elect to have their $100 a week Travel and Accommodation Scholarship paid directly to the College to cover accommodation costs.
The “Guide to College Services and Student Responsibilities”, available to people who live on-campus, provides more information.
While it is not compulsory to stay on-campus, it is strongly advised that you do so because of the demanding requirements of the training program and positive aspects of communal living e.g. comradery, study groups, support network.
