Paying your Subject Tuition Fees

Police Motorbikes

Up-front Payment Option

You pay fees at the beginning of each session – refer to the table for the amount payable each session. No discount is available however the loan fee also does not apply.

You can choose the upfront option and also supply the University with your tax file number. This allows the University to change your option to FEE-HELP if you cannot make your upfront payment by the due date. Students are strongly advised to supply their tax file number to the University even if they intend to pay upfront.

If you do not make your upfront payment by the Census Date and you have not supplied the University with your tax file number, the University must cancel your enrolment for that session.

If you choose to pay upfront, you are not required to pay your subject tuition fees on enrolment day. The University will send you a FEE invoice via its internet-based communication system to your E-Box at MY.CSU, shortly afterwards with a due date for payment.

The Deferred Payment Option

You supply the University with your tax file number and the University reports your FEE-HELP debt to the Australian Tax Office. You start repaying your debt back to the Tax Office once your salary reaches $39,825 or higher (based on 2007-08 financial year figures).

You can choose the deferred option and also make a partial upfront payment to the University. A partial payment must be at least $500. Partial upfront payments attract no discount on the upfront amount paid, however there is no loan fee on the amount paid as a partial payment and a reduced debt is reported to the Tax Office.

If you choose the deferred option, but do not provide the University with a tax file number or do not make a full upfront payment by the census date, the University must cancel your enrolment for that session.
