Studying by Distance Education
Studying by distance education does not require attendance on campus or at formal lectures. Study materials are self-contained, including study guides, readings, assessment tasks and prescribed textbook (some may include essential computer software). Each subject requires around 10-15 hours per week study time. Students are also encouraged to contact the teaching staff to discuss any issue relating to their study.
This is a distance education/offshore tutorial course only, students are provided with:
- distance education study packages that are self-contained, and include a hard copy version of the study notes, readings, assessment tasks and one prescribed textbook
- access to online resources including the ability to talk with other students in the same subject or course via online forums
- a number of resources via the library, including the ability to borrow from the campus libraries as a distance education student and obtain access to other university libraries
- the ability to submit assignments online
- portability of the degree, study anywhere in the world and flexibility in study habits with no on campus classes
- if a subject contains an exam, CSU has a number of exam centres located around the world, in most instances students are not required to locate and pay for their own invigilator.
