Study materials and teaching methods
When you’re a distance education student with CSU, your learning experience is enhanced through CSU’s varied approach to flexible study delivery:
- your pack of printed study materials may include a subject outline and assessments, week-by-week study guide, additional topic-related readings or laboratory manuals, depending on the type of subject being undertaken. These are usually sent out several weeks before semester, so you actually have more time to study. Contact Student Services Support Central for further information
- every CSU subject has a CSU Interact site. Here students can find a range of activities, communication tools and resources to support their learning and engage with staff and other students
- sites may contain online subject outlines, announcements and other learning resources. There are online forums and other opportunities for working in groups with fellow students.
- forum participation is encouraged to facilitate ongoing discussion on study topics, answer questions about the subject, provide you with exercises, or to point you to further resources. Subject forums usually come online 3-4 days before the commencement of the semester
- study modules contain activities that encourage you to apply your learning to the real world
- DVDs and CD-ROMs supplementing some study guides are distributed directly to you in your study pack, without additional cost
- constructive feedback is provided on assignments
- computer-based education packages support some topics
- textbooks are available from the University Co-op Bookshops. You can even order textbooks online and have them posted out to you.
“All the little things like getting my study packs on-time every time, getting text-book lists out early each semester to get ahead, getting assignments back on time. CSU is a quality professional hassle-free education provider. ”
