My name is Jane Havelka and I am a Wiradjuri woman from the Narromine, Dubbo region. I am the course coordinator for the Bachelor of Health Science (Mental Health). I have worked in the Dubbo, Forbes and Wagga Wagga hospitals as an Enrolled Nurse for over twenty years.

I hold a Certificate in Aboriginal Teaching and Learning, a Diploma in Aboriginal Health and Community Development and a Bachelor in Community and Public Health. I am currently studying for my Master of Health Science (Honours), in which I am researching the social and emotional effects of Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in relation to the Aboriginal Housing Resettlement Program of the 1970's.

I have worked in many jobs ranging from cotton chipping, fruit picking, nursing and child care. In addition I have experience teaching at TAFE and lecturing at Charles Sturt University.
