My name is Verina Crawford. My job is the Aboriginal Mental Health Training Program Co-Ordinator in the GWAHS. I was born in Brewarrina and grew up where the Barwon riverbanks was my backyard. My people are the Barkindji people from around Wilcannia and down south to Dareton and Wentworth way. I have 2 beautiful girls, Dixielee and Paige, one great bloke Les and 2 loyal dogs and we all live very happlily out in the middle of the desert in Broken Hill.
Throughout my 24 year career I have worked in lots of roles, but I have to say my role now in mental health is the one that now gives me the strongest job satisfaction. With a degree in health science under my belt, the world is my oyster.
