Charles Sturt EdX 2021

Connecting in a disrupted world

Our learning and teaching conference this year is happening online from 17-19 November. The event will run from 9:30am to 1:00pm each day and will also incorporate some on campus activity on day two providing additional ways for people to connect. We invite you to reflect on, share ideas, experiences and practice of how we connect in a continually disrupted world aligned to four streams:

  • Future focussed
  • Innovation and quality
  • Co-creation
  • No limits

The world of higher education continues to be a very different world than it was two years ago. With the continuing and unpredictable impact of COVID we are required to be agile, adapt and connect in different ways and at short notice while continuing to deliver positive experiences and quality outcomes. Across the sector, universities and academics face challenges that include isolation, restructures, and competition. On graduation students are required to be ready to step into new work contexts, new  roles with demands for new capabilities and skills. For universities we are charged to provide courses that not only develop cognitive and academic skills, but also prepare students for the practical world of work. At Charles Sturt, we seek to provide our students with relevant, exciting learning that prepares them for their future workplace while setting them up with the skills to deliver on our mission of creating a world worth living in. For our rural and regional communities, we seek to be a source of inspiration and to model ways of living in the world differently.

CSEdX 2021 is focussed on connecting in this disrupted environment. Connecting with our colleagues to explore different ways of teaching collegially - of being one university. Connecting with our students to provide high quality learning experiences that meet their future needs. Connecting with our communities and professional disciplines to advance knowledge, to support change and to ensure sustainability across our lives. Connecting with our First Nations peoples to share stories, learn together and create new pathways.

  • How are you connecting in this disrupted world?
  • What have you learned as you have adapted and moved with the many changes?
  • How can we all learn together?
