New Zealand - Paramedic Program

International Experience Program: New Zealand

Faculty of Science

School of Biomedical Sciences - Paramedic Study Tour

Rhythm and Vines CrewProposed 2019/20 Program

This overseas travel experience gives you the opportunity to undertake your clinical placement hours on the North Island of beautiful New Zealand. Facilitated through St John's Ambulance and Wellington Free Ambulance, NZ you'll commence your experience with Orientation activities with St John's Ambulance staff in Gisborne before starting your placements.  Additionally, most (if not all students) will have the opportunity to work with Emergency Services at the Rhythm and Vines music festival. You will then split into groups completing the rest of your placement in regions such as Napier, Gisborne, Wellington, Tauranga or Whakatane.

Whilst on your placement you'll not only expand your clinical skills, but will also be able to network with St Johns and Wellington Free Ambulance as potential employers.  Students may be interviewed during this placement for graduate positions. In 2019 more than 50% of students were offered future employment as a result of their participation in this program.

The self ticketing aspect of the placement  will also allow you the flexibility of exploring the beauty and culture of New Zealand at your leisure prior to and/or after the program completion.
