Proposed 2018 program
Your participation in this program will develop your analytical and problem solving skills through your participation at the International Food and Agribusiness Management Association (IFAMA) Student case study competition in joint attendance at the IFAMA World Forum in Buenos Aires. This is the only global student case competition serving the agribusiness sector. It will allow you to compete against students enrolled in universities from across the globe whilst still having the opportunity to engage with these peers and gaining different perspectives on agriculture and agribusiness practices. Prior to departure and on tour, you will train for the competition with CSU's Professor David Falepau and Dr Sosheel Godfrey . The IFAMA World Forum will this year focus on Sustainable Food Security 2050 and will feature speakers from business, public sector and academia.
The Tour will also include visits to innovative and entrepreneurial agribusinesses in Rosario and locations close to Buenos Aires. This will allow you to understand the intricacies of the Argentinian agricultural value chain and enable you to comparatively analyse it with the Australian agricultural value chain.
When: Approximately 17 - 28 June, 2018 (exact dates will be confirmed upon notification of successful application)
Number of places available: Maximum 20 places
This program will require minimum numbers to proceed.
Eligibility: You must be enrolled in a degree through the “School of Agriculture and Wine Sciences, School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences or School of Management and Marketing and have approval to include the subject SCI301 in your degree. You must also be prepared to undertake some training towards the IFAMA case study competition and have a strong interest in Agribusiness.”
Academic Information: On successful completion of the program you may eligible to receive academic recognition for SCI301. This will require payment of a subject tuition fee and satisfactory participation and completion of specified assessment items.
Financial Assistance: The advertised program cost for students is based on the provision of the $450 Vice Chancellor Travel Grant. Eligibility is restricted to CSU students receiving academic recognition for their participation in the program. This Grant is not paid directly to students but has already been deducted from the program cost.
Students may also be eligible to receive financial assistance through the Australian Government's OS-HELP loan. OS-HELP is a loan available to eligible Commonwealth Supported students who want to undertake some of their study overseas. OS-HELP can be used for a range of expenses such as airfares, accommodation, and other travel or study expenses.
Eligibility for OS-HELP will be assessed once successful students are selected and is based on a number of criteria. Acceptance into a CSU Global program does not guarantee eligibility for the loan. Please note, you cannot pay your program deposit through OS-HELP.
All funding associated with CSU Global programs (travel grants, scholarships, subsidies and loans) is linked to successful completion of academic and program expectations. Failure to meet these requirements may result in funding being revoked.
Refer to Global's Scholarships and Funding webpage for further information on OS-HELP.
