Online practical exam

A practical exam is completed real-time with your lecturer using video conferencing systems like Zoom.

How to sit online practical exams

Your personal exam timetable will indicate if you have a practical exam and your Interact2 subject site will provide the details for booking your session or the session time you have been allocated. Information about the duration and any approved materials will also be advised via your Interact2 subject site.

Timing of online practical exams

To ensure you don’t experience a clash with any other exams during the exam period, we will block a chunk of time of about 1-2 days in the system to prevent any other exam being scheduled for you on those days. This way, it doesn’t matter what session you are allocated as you should not have any other exams on those days.

Technology time allowance

Technology time allowances will be given to most time-limited exams. If you receive technology time allowances, this will be added to your exam timetable in the coming weeks. Exam timetables will be released on Monday 24 August.

Special equipment you'll need

You’ll need a webcam and microphone to connect to your exam.

Check the exam instructions from your Interact2 subject site to see if you have any other special equipment requirements.

Online study support

The Online Study Team is here to support you throughout your online exams. You can access a range of online workshops to get familiar with online exams or get one-on-one support at online appointments.
