In keeping with the rest of 2020, this summer might be different from others, with travel restrictions and social distancing measures still in place. Don't worry, we plan to help entertain you all summer long.

Your Student Liaison Officers have been hard at work to bring you a series of activities, workshops and online events to enjoy over the festive season. Summer with Charles Sturt is a SSAF funded initiative.

Here's how you can get involved:

Most activities have a maximum capacity so you'll have to register quickly. First in, best dressed.

Once you've registered, we'll email the details of the event to you.

    2020 Summer at Charles Sturt University Competitions Terms and Conditions (T&Cs)

    By entering the “2020 Summer at Charles Sturt University’ (SCSU) (Competitions) you accept the following T&Cs.

    Promoter

    1. The promoter of the Competitions is Charles Sturt University (ABN: 83 878 708 551) Panorama Avenue, Bathurst, New South Wales 2795 (Charles Sturt).

      Competitions Period

    2. The Competitions will commence on 13th November at 12.01am AEST and close on 30th February at 11.59pm AEST (Competitions Period). Any entry submitted outside the Competitions Period will be invalid.

      Eligibility

    3. Subject to clause 5, entry in the Competitions is open to all currently enrolled Charles Sturt students (Entrant).
    4. Any Entrant under 18 years must have the consent of their parent or guardian to enter.
    5. Current employees of the University and their immediate family members are ineligible to enter the Competitions, notwithstanding if such persons are currently enrolled Charles Sturt students.
    6. How to enter
      1. All competitions. To enter any competition, Entrants must provide their relevant personal details within the registration form on the Student Portal Survey.
      2. Sporting competitions. To enter, Entrants must take a photo of themselves completing a Summer at Charles Sturt sporting activity within the fortnight that the sporting video, (yoga, boxing, training) is released. And:
        1. email the photo to the Engagement Team at engagement@csu.edu.au which will be uploaded to the SCSU webpage;
      3. External competitions. To enter, Entrants must participate in externally provided classes.
    1. There is no limit on the number of entries which can be submitted by an Entrant provided each entry is different.

      Judging and winners

    2. These are Competitions based on skill and merit.  Chance plays no part in determining winners.
    3. Entries will be judged by a selection panel comprised of the external providers running the events and 3 engagement team members. Prizes will be awarded to the top 5 ranked entries based on their originality, creativity and relevance (Winners).
    4. Charles Sturt reserves the right not to determine a Winner at its discretion.
    5. The decision of the selection panel is final.
    6. Charles Sturt reserves the right to verify the identity and eligibility of an Entrant prior to awarding a prize.
    7. Charles Sturt’s decision about the eligibility of an Entrant and/or their compliance with these T&Cs is final.
    8. Charles Sturt will notify the Winners via their nominated email address by 5pm AEST 5 days after the close of the competition. Subject to clause 18, the names of the Winners may be published on the SCSU webpage for the duration of the competition or such other later date as determined by Charles Sturt if a re-draw is required pursuant to clause 18.

    Prizes

    1. The prizes are as follows (Prize):

      Sporting competitions

      1 Charles Sturt hoodies valued at $33 each

      1 Charles Sturt socks valued at $7 each

      External competitions

      (a)   First prize:                  1 x gift card for the value of $100

      (b)   Second prize:              1 x gift card for the value of $100

      (c)   Third prize:                 1 x gift card for the value of $100

      (d)   Fourth prize:               1 x gift card for the value of $100

      (e)   Fifth prize                   1 x gift card for the value of $100

    2. The Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
    3. If the Prize (or any part of the Prize) is unavailable, Charles Sturt, at its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the Prize (or that part of the Prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification.
    4. To claim their Prize, each Winner must contact Charles Sturt by return email by 5pm AEST 5 days after the result has been released. After this time, the applicable Prize is forfeited to Charles Sturt and Charles Sturt may elect, at its discretion, to offer any unclaimed Prize to another Entrant using the same judging criteria as described in these T&Cs and will notify such Entrant as soon as practicable following Charles Sturt’s decision. Charles Sturt is not liable to compensate any person who fails to claim their Prize.

    Content of Entry  

    1. Each Entrant warrants that they are the creator of the entry, they own the copyright and their entry does not infringe any third party rights.
    2. Each Entrant must obtain the consent of any person who can be identified in their entry prior to submitting it to the Competitions.
    3. An Entrant must not submit any material which is unlawful, fraudulent, an infringement of any intellectual property, privacy or other rights, defamatory, obscene, derogatory, pornographic, violent, abusive, harassing, threatening, sexist, racist, discriminatory, hateful, or otherwise unsuitable for publication.

    Use of Your Entry for Promotional Purposes

    1. By entering this Competition each Entrant grants to Charles Sturt a non-exclusive, irrevocable, royalty and fee-free licence to use, reproduce, publish and distribute their entry, for the purposes of the Competitions and all other activities promoting Charles Sturt. The entry may be published in any media, and Charles Sturt may alter or edit the entry as required to make use of the entry for the permitted purposes. Each Entrant consents to any act by Charles Sturt which would otherwise infringe their moral rights.

      Release and Liability

    2. To the full extent permitted by law, Charles Sturt excludes all liability arising in connection with this Competitions, any entry or Prize.
    3. Charles Sturt is not responsible for any late, lost, incorrectly submitted, delayed, incomplete or corrupted entry whether due to error or otherwise. Charles Sturt is under no obligation to accept any entry which is not submitted in accordance with these T&Cs.
    4. Charles Sturt reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Competitions, in which case it will post a notice on SCSU webpage.
    5. Without prejudice to any other rights of a party, each Entrant indemnifies Charles Sturt against any loss, claim or damage arising from the Entrant’s participation or entry in the Competitions or winning a Prize.

    Privacy

    1. Charles Sturt may collect, store and use personal information collected from Entrants in order to conduct the Competitions and related purposes.
    2. Each Entrant consents to the publication of their name and details if they are a Winner.
    3. Personal information is managed by Charles Sturt in accordance with the Charles Sturt Privacy Management Plan: https://policy.csu.edu.au/document/view-current.php?id=218. Any Entrant can contact the Charles Sturt Ombudsman about personal information held by Charles Sturt about them.
    4. Supply of personal information is voluntary, but if an Entrant declines to do so then Charles Sturt may not be able to include their entry in the Competitions or award a Prize.
