Exemption from residential school

You can apply for exemption from attendance at compulsory residential schools.

Grounds for application

Applications for exemption may be approved on the following grounds:

  • Misadventure or extenuating circumstances
  • Where students are re-enrolling in a failed subject and have satisfactorily completed the residential school requirements when first enrolled in that subject (although some Schools do not consider this as a valid reason for exemption)
  • Where students have already completed the work to be taught at the residential school.

Applications will be decided by the Head of School on the recommendation of the Subject Coordinator or Course Director (for course-based Residential Schools).

Read the Assessment Policy - Coursework Subjects Section 12-Residential Schools, Part Z
