Getting to campus

You can get to all our campus cities by car, plane, train and bus. Taxis and rental cars are also available.

Shuttle buses in Bathurst and Wagga Wagga

You can use shuttle to travel between the airport, bus, train station and campus. These services and booking instructions differ between these two cities, so please ensure that you read the information carefully for the campus on which your Residential School is being held.

Travelling to the Albury-Wodonga campus

Free Res School transport in both directions between the airport, bus, train station and campus (bookings essential)

This service is operated by Albury Taxis and is free for you to travel from and to the airport, Train/Bus station to campus or motel accommodation in the city to attend designated residential schools.

  • If you are booking a transfer service outside the normal residential school period you are responsible for the fare.
  • All travel outside of this res school arrangement will be at your own expense.
  • You are encouraged to book the return trip when making the original booking.

Pick-ups for outgoing 7 days a week from the Albury Charles Sturt University accommodation car-park to the Airport (when booking is made) needs to be a minimum 1 hour before flight.

For flight changes please contact Albury Taxis which will run pickups to suit those times.

Booking deadline How to make a booking

Albury Taxi service prefers bookings to be made at least 24 hours in advance of required pickup time. You must identify yourself as a Charles Sturt University student when making a booking under our Transfer Service to access the free fare. Advanced bookings are preferred and will help assist by avoiding longer wait times during peak times.

When booking by phone or email provide the account name: Charles Sturt Transfer Service, your full name, student number,  mobile phone number, pick up/drop off location, carrier name (Rex/Qantas/bus/train), arrival/departure date and time. Failure to provide this information will result in you being responsible for the fare.

Travelling to the Bathurst campus

Bathurst Tours operates free transport for you to travel to and from the airport, train/bus station to campus to attend designated residential schools.

  • If you are booking a transfer service outside the normal residential school period you are responsible for the fare.
  • All travel outside of this res school arrangement will be at your own expense.
  • You are encouraged to book the return trip when making the original booking.

Pick-ups for outgoing 7 days a week from the Bathurst campus to the Airport (when booking is made) needs to be a minimum 1 hour before flight.

Free transport in both directions between the airport, bus, train station and campus. Bookings by either email, text message and phone are now available.

  • Bathurst Tours is a privately run free service which operates 7 days/nights a week to and from the airport and bus/train station to the campus.
  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice for a booking is required.
  • The designated set down and pick up on campus for Bathurst Tours is the bus stop outside the Phillips Building, 1410.
  • Pickups for outgoing trips to the airport needs to be a minimum of an hour prior to the outgoing flight. Bookings for the airport are essential.

All travel to locations outside the designated set down and pick up points are available at the travellers own expense.

Booking deadline How to make a booking

Advance bookings must be made ahead of time with a minimum of 48 hours advanced booking notice. This service is available 7 days a week.

You must identify yourself as a Charles Sturt University student when making a booking to access the free fare and you must have a Charles Sturt Student ID Card as proof.

Every booking will be acknowledged with a confirmation reply form the operators.

Travelling the Orange campus

Free Res School arrival and departure transport from the airport, bus, train station and campus (bookings essential)

Orange Taxis offers free transport for your arrival and departure from the airport, train/bus station to campus to attend designated residential schools.

  • This transfer service does not include transport from your hotel to campus each day or to attend a workplace learning placement in town.
  • If you are booking a transfer service outside the normal residential school period you are responsible for the fare.
  • All travel outside of this res school arrangement will be at your own expense.
  • You are encouraged to book the return trip when making the original booking.

Pick-ups for outgoing 7 days a week from the Orange Charles Sturt University accommodation car-park (PO5) to the Airport (when booking is made) needs to be a minimum 1 hour before flight.

For flight changes please contact Orange Taxis to change the pick-up time to suit the new flight time.

Travelling to the Wagga Wagga campus

Wagga Shuttle Bus

Provides transport in both directions between the airport, bus, train station and campus

This transfer service is operated by a local transport company Wagga Shuttle and is free for students studying online who are coming on campus to attend residential schools. It is also free for selected international students, enabling them to travel to and from the airport, bus and train stations to campus or motel accommodation in the city at the start and end of their course.

Remember to book with Wagga Shuttle when making your accommodation and travel arrangements.

  • This transfer service does not include transport from your hotel to campus each day during residential school or to attend a workplace learning placement in town or on campus.
  • If you are booking a transfer service outside the normal residential school period you are responsible for the fare
  • All travel outside of this res school arrangement will be at your own expense.
  • Full time on campus students can also use the service but must pay their own fare direct to the operator of the service.
  • You are encouraged to book the return trip when making the original residential school transfer booking.

Wagga Shuttle pickup point on campus is the Charles Sturt University Res Life Bus stop.

Pickup times from University vary dependent on bookings. You will be supplied with a pickup time at the time of booking. Ensure you have your departure details for Wagga Shuttle.

To avoid delays, please allow sufficient travel time when making your bookings. If class finishing times do not allow ample pickup and travel time to departure transport, alternative arrangements must be made at the Students own expense. Wagga Shuttle does provide a separate paid express service.

For flight/train/bus changes please contact Wagga Shuttle to change the pick-up time to suit the new time.

Booking deadline How to make a booking
Wagga Shuttle service prefers bookings to be made at least 5 days in advance of required pickup time. To access the free fare, you must identify yourself as a Charles Sturt University student and provide ID. Advance bookings will help in avoiding longer wait times during peak periods. Late bookings could result in a later shuttle time. 

Book online at www.waggashuttle.com.au and a confirmation will be emailed to you with your pick up details.

When booking by email provide your full name, mobile phone number, pick up / drop off location, carrier name (Rex / Qantas / bus / train), arrival / departure date and time.
