Dr Sherene Alexander is a qualified paediatric dentist and child dental care specialist. She is the staff specialist at the Westmead Centre for Oral Health and previously worked as Senior Registar for the Department of Paediatric Dentistry at Westmead Dental Hospital.
She is interested in trauma management, oral medicine and pathologies in children. In recent years, Sherene has provided specialist care in the Northern Territory, under the Australian Government Intervention Services.
Sherene advanced her training at TUFTS University in Boston in the United States. She then enjoyed a short stint at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne and worked for two years as Regional Dental Officer for Dental Health Services Victoria (DHSV) in Gippsland, Victoria.
Currently, Sherene is Senior Clinical Lecturer in Dentistry at the University of Sydney. Her research has been widely published in scientific literature and she regularly presents at conferences around the world. She is also actively involved in training future paediatric dentists and ongoing professional development.
Sherene is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons.
