Popular productivity applications for Android


There are a wide range of both free and paid apps to help meet your mobile business requirements. A list of popular productivity apps is provided in the table below for your convenience.

Access to and payment for these apps is via the Google Play store, using either a CSU corporate credit card or previously purchased Google Play gift card. Some apps are only available through the developers website. Selection of the most relevant app and payment is the responsibility of the school, faculty or division.

University data stored on or accessed from Android devices remains the responsibility of the owner. Storing confidential CSU data on these devices should be avoided where possible.

Yammer brings together CSU staff, content and conversations in a single convenient location. Yammer offers you an intelligent and efficient way to connect with the information and people that you need to get work done. Collaborate and share ideas together in real time, no matter where you are. There are many CSU groups on Yammer.

Skype for Business logoSkype for Business

The Skype for Business for Android app brings Skype for Business presence, instant messaging (IM), and voice and video calling to your mobile device.

To add your credentials:

  1. Enter your CSU email address and password. Click Next
  2. Enter your CSU phone number or preferred number (you can leave this blank). There is also an option to sync your contacts. This will sync your desktop Skype for Business contacts to your phone (including groups). Click Next
  3. Swipe left three times and click Next
  4. You can now use Skype for Business on your android mobile device
Euphony Music Player TrialEuphony Music Player

Voicemails from the CSU phone system are attached to emails as WAV files. Android has no built in support for WAV files. You can use this app to open the attachments and listen to CSU voicemail messages from your Android. It can also play other types of audio files including .mp3, .mp4, .m4a and more.

This app can be used by those with and without CSU paid plans. It enables you to keep an eye on your usage each month.

Simply download the app, enter your My Account details and you're ready to go! To set up My Account, tap the Register button in the login screen after installing the app or alternatively visit from a PC.

Adobe Reader

Access, manage and share a variety of PDF types including PDF Portfolios, password protected documents, fillable forms and Adobe LiveCycle rights managed PDF. You can sign, complete forms, annotate and comment.


DocuSign is the most widely used eSignature and Digital Transaction Management platform in the world. The app offers unlimited free signing as well as upgrade options.

iAnnotate PDF

Winner of the 2012 Tabby Awards for Best Productivity App and Best Collaboration App.  iAnnotate PDF allows you to read, annotate, and highlight PDF documents, add drawings and handwritten notes, manage your files, and share them via email.

Office Suite Pro

OfficeSuite Pro allows you to view, create, edit, print and share Word, Excel and PowerPoint files on the go. Aldiko Book Reader

The leading eBook application for the Android platform. Pre-installed in 20+ different Smartphones and Tablets. There is also a premium version available.

File storage

Dropbox can be used to store files and is especially useful if you work cross-platform. Dropbox for Android gives you previews of your documents, photos, and media. You can open your documents in whatever app you have installed that supports that type of media.
