Installation

CSU managed personal computing devices

This software is available for you to install on your CSU managed device. To complete this process:

  1. Open Software Center (Install Software Icon)
  2. Browse and install software that has been made available for your computer:
    1. Find the software in the list
    2. Click the Install button
  3. When your software has finished downloading, it will be available for use.

Personal computing devices

  1. The software may only be used while the user is a registered student or staff member of Charles Sturt University and must reside in Australia. The licence to use the software will terminate under the agreement when the user is no longer a student or staff member of Charles Sturt University. Any copies of NVIVO software must be removed from the user's computer once they are no longer registered with Charles Sturt University.
  2. Use of the software at the user's home is limited to use related to course work, research work or other work directly related to the user's relationship with Charles Sturt University.
  3. The license code will expire each January and the updated license obtained from the DIT software download page and entered into the program.
  4. The license for this software is limited to use in Australia only. CSU Staff and Students requiring use of this software outside of Australia are required to purchase a 12 month license from http://www.qsrinternational.com/

    Windows

  • Download Nvivo
  • Save the installation file (NVivo12.x86.exe or NVivo12.x64.exe) to a convenient location, such as your desktop
  • When the file has finished downloading, locate and double-click NVivo12.x86.exe or NVivo12.x64.exe. The InstallShield Wizard is displayed
  • Follow the prompts to install the application and its required components.
  • Windows Installation tips

    Mac

  • Download Nvivo
  • Save the installation file (NVivo12.dmg) to a convenient location, such as your desktop.
  • When the file has finished downloading, locate and double-click NVivo12.dmg. The Install Wizard is displayed
  • Follow the prompts to install the application and its required components.
