What Is This Service?

The CSU Computer Shop negotiates with vendors to provide substantial institutional discounts on preferred items for staff. Stocking preferred items allows standardisation of hardware and software enabling better support for these items. .

The Computer Shop sells both Windows based and Macintosh computers, monitors, mobile devices including Apple, Microsoft Surface Pro and others upon request, VOIP telephones and headsets, mobile phones, a variety of Windows based and Macintosh software, printers/multifunction devices and peripherals (including desktop videoconferencing equipment, scanners, projectors and other AV items). Other items can be ordered in when required by completing the enquiry form.

What Is Included?

  • Ability to purchase or lease items for University use
  • Installation and initial configuration of purchased desktop computers, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, printers and desktop videoconferencing equipment
  • Installation and configuration of purchased software
  • Ability to install some software purchased from the CSU Computer Shop from Install Software
  • Ability to order other items not listed by email the Computer Shop at computershop@csu.edu.au with regards to acquiring a generic form.

How Do I Initiate This Service?

How Much Does It Cost?

There is no charge for the customer service provided by the CSU Computer Shop, however, the cost of installation and initial configuration of supported hardware and software, data transfer and ongoing maintenance is built into the purchase cost of each computer system.

Individual item pricing is provided on the item's webpage or in the item's order form.

The lease term is determined by the warranty period of a hardware item, the total cost is divided by the lease term and rounded up to the nearest cent to determine the monthly payment amount.

How Do I Request Support For This Service?

Support is provided for most items purchased from the Computer Shop, however, not all items can be supported. If an item is not supported it will advise that on the items information page. Ensure you read all guidelines before purchasing so you are fully aware of any service access limitations and the level of support that is provided.
