What Is This Service?

staff.csu provides a secure gateway and single entry point to CSU's online services. You can access systems, services and information specific to your needs from one location. It can be accessed at any time from anywhere you have an Internet connection.

The staff.csu portal includes the CSU Communications Directory toolbox, access to Web Outlook, Services Status toolbox, Bookmarks toolbox and What's New. A - Z provides a comprehensive list of quick links to many different areas on the CSU website including Faculties, Schools, Divisions, Casual Room Bookings, Finance, Human Resources, Staff Development and Conferences, Academic Calendar, Special Studies Program and Promaster. Other categories of Quick Links include My Top 10, Admin Info, Calendar, IT Services, Learning and Teaching, Lecturer's Office, Library, CSU News, Mobile, Personal Info and CSU Interact.

What Is Included?

  • Ability to activate staff account (new staff only) and forgotten password link from staff.csu login page
  • Access to current and planned Service Disruption information from the staff.csu login page and from the toolbox when logged in
  • Access to online services, administrative systems and Interact Online Learning Environment
  • Display of days remaining before your password must be changed (Password toolbox)
  • Direct access to internal Communications Directory
  • Direct access to password changing tool
  • Direct access to Web Outlook
  • Direct access to What's New toolbox
  • Ability to customise display of toolboxes (change order and close ones you don't use)
  • My Top 10 quick links (automatically lists the 10 links you use the most for quick access)
  • Ability to save bookmarks (access from anywhere not just the computer they were created on)
  • Ability to save frequently accessed forums to the My Forums toolbox
  • Resolution of login and technical issues that affect any element of this service

Significant incident response Up to 15 minutes in 99% of cases for incidents affecting availability of service for all staff (this does not include incidents affecting individuals or a small subset of staff)
Significant Incident resolution Up to 3 hours in 98% of cases for incidents affecting availability of service for all staff (this does not include incidents affecting individuals or a small subset of staff)

How Do I Initiate This Service?

This service is available to all staff and does not need to be requested.

To obtain your username and password to login to staff.csu for the first time use the online account activation system and provide requested information to identify yourself.

CSU owned computers have staff.csu set as the home page in Internet Explorer by default. When you open Internet Explorer the staff.csu login page loads automatically. Enter your username and password to login.

You can access from a non CSU owned computer by opening an Internet (web) browser and typing into the address bar. Enter your username and password to login.

How Much Does It Cost?

The provision, maintenance and support of the staff.csu staff portal is funded by the University and provided at no additional cost to staff.

Where Can I Find On Line Self Help or More Information?

Each of the toolboxes have a help link to explain how to use them. The help link is located in the top right hand corner of each toolbox.
