Works are commencing on the refurbishment of 16 kitchens in the Diggings residential buildings 1255 - 1262 on the Bathurst campus. See the 'project overview' for more details on the upgrades including a typical floor plan, the location of the builders compound and the appliances and furniture schedule.
Charles Sturt University's governing body, the University Council, has formally approved the divestment of South Campus in Wagga Wagga. This does not include the Kay Hull Veterinary Teaching Hospital Wagga Wagga which is on separate land title and will be retained as a priority facility for the University. The Division of Facilities Management (DFM) will commence the demolition of building 1450 (N6) on the Bathurst campus from the 14 November 2016. Weather permitting, the removal of the building, returning to a greenfield site as well as the installation of new lighting, pathways, turf and shrubs will be completed by 30 January 2017. The Division of Facilities Management (DFM), through the SSAF program, are undertaking an upgrade of the Diggings Canteen on Bathurst Campus, installing a BBQ kitchen on Banjo's Deck and providing a Parent Room in the Learning Commons on the Orange Campus. All 3 of these projects will greatly benefit students.
The Division of Human Resources in conjunction with the Division of Facilities Management wish to raise awareness to the smoking bans for outdoor dinning areas under the Smoke Free Environment Act and the Universitys Smoking in the Workplace Policy. The Division of Facilities Management is undertaking remedial works to the roof of the Learning Commons (building 1412). Some alteration to access walkways and disabled parking have been made to allow the works to be conducted safely. Details are provided on the works site plan.
