Scope

Refurbishment of existing five Learning and Teaching Spaces with major services and fit out upgrade to rooms number 289, 287, 286, 285 & 284. Works include removing external walls to provide windows for natural light, new furniture and technology upgrades of CSU DIT AV equipment. Upgrade of security access control system and HVAC (air-conditioning) upgrade.

Design Features

  • Provide flexible spaces to meet School of Education and broader users.
  • IT & AV upgrades to all spaces to suit DIT standard room matrix.
  • One learning space to also have additional screens to suit small group collaboration.
  • Provide spaces up to 40 Students with two rooms joined by an operable wall.
  • Flexible furniture to allow more collaborative learning.
  • Opening the rooms to the exterior to create transparency and connection.
  • Install infra-red auditing to spaces to provide more accurate auditing data to the University.

Sustainability Features

  • Upgrading to modern light fittings to maximize energy efficiency.
  • Open learning spaces to promote natural light and outside views.

Progress report

The contract for this project has been awarded to Joss Construction, works will commence on Monday 29th October 2018.
