    The facility will be closed from November 2017 through to late July 2018 while the refurbishment work is completed.

Wagga playhouse


Currently the Riverina Playhouse facility is used by Charles Sturt University Students and Staff for Teaching purposes. As part of these Teaching purposes the general community is invited to attend and view performances by the students. The facility is also available for community organizations/groups to utilise.

Design Features

Since its construction in 1986, the facility has had limited improvements and a major refurbishment is planned later this year to bring the facility up to modern standards

The refurbishment will address the following within the facility, being;

  • Emergency & Exit Lighting System
  • Fire Detection & Evacuation System
  • Disability Access (including lift) & Amenities Upgrade
  • Mechanical Services Upgrade
  • Auditorium Seating Upgrade
  • New Lighting grid systems
  • Minor room alterations (including wall & floor furnishings).

Additional design features include:

  • A re-organised foyer area with upgraded amenities, including disable facilities.
  • New auditorium layout with generous leg room and theatre chairs

Quality performance and presentation spaces will be available following on from Acoustic treatments.

  • Energy efficient lighting and mechanical systems
  • The use of water save fittings and toilet systems.
