Asking Good Questions: a powerful tool for effective teaching

Questions are a key item in your bag of teaching tools. When they are planned pre-session, and organised to guide the activity they make a powerful difference to the learning and teaching experience.

In this session we will look at a variety of types of question, explore ways to build discussion around questions and consider strategies to build your teaching sessions around effective questions that create greater interactivity in your teaching.

Learn how to design questions that:

  • engage and challenge students
  • provide you a way of checking student understanding
  • extend the learning and assure active student learning.
