Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

LifeWorks by Morneau Shepell is the University's chosen EAP provider.  LifeWorks provides independent and confidential services to all employees and their immediate families.

Access to services is through self-referral.  On occasion managers and colleagues can encourage each other to use the available services however, the decision to make an appointment is up to the individual.  Participation is voluntary.

LifeWorks services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The Managers' Hotline is a further resource offered by LifeWorks. Managers can access a 30-minute coaching session with an independent specialist who can assist in managing work-related issues in their team, conflict, or difficult discussions. To access the hotline, call:

These manager coaching sessions do not affect the number of individual EAP sessions available to the manager.

LifeWorks develops a monthly Heartbeat Newsletter with tips and resources you may find helpful. Heartbest Newsletters are available to all staff and their families.


LifeWorks provides support for all users, with specialised and experienced counsellors available through your LifeWorks EAP. Employees can request a counsellor with a background or experience in EEO specialties including First Nations, LGBTIQA+, Family Violence, and supporting clients with Disability.  There is also a section on the LifeWorks Platform dedicated to resources for LGBTIQA+ persons.
