Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides an independent and confidential counselling service to all employees and their immediate families. Counselling can be for either work-related or personal issues, and is strictly confidential.
Employees and eligible family members can make an appointment from anywhere in Australia. To speak with a counsellor call:

Access to the service is through self-referral. On occasion managers and work colleagues can encourage each other to use the service however, the decision to make an appointment is up to the individual. Participation is voluntary.
The service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

LifeWorks by Morneau Shepell is the University's chosen EAP provider.
LifeWorks has confirmed that they provide support for LGBTIQ+ persons, with specialised and experienced counsellors available through your LifeWorks EAP.
Users are welcome to request a counsellor with a background or experience in the LGBTIQ+ area, as this is a valued clinical specialty recorded within our systems (along with other EEO specialties including Indigenous, Family Violence, and supporting clients with Disabilities). Additionally, there is a section of our LifeWorks Platform dedicated to resources for LGBTIQ+ persons.
Manager's hotline chevron_right
The Managers' Hotline is a further resource offered by LifeWorks. Managers can access a 30 minute coaching session with an independent specialist who can assist in managing with work related issues in their team, conflict, or difficult discussions. To access the hotline, call:

These manager coaching sessions do not affect the number of individual EAP sessions available to the manager.

Support during COVID-19 chevron_right
Our Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider LifeWorks, have temporarily ceased face to face counselling however, the team of Connect Telehealth clinicians offer a professional and confidential counselling service via telephone or video, to support you and your loved ones during this time. This can be just as effective as face to face support, and clinicians are experienced and know how to make you feel comfortable in a virtual setting.
