This subject provides students with the opportunity to gain an understanding of the fundamental underpinning mechanical principles of human movement and to be able to apply them in a practical context. Students learn how various kinetic (forces) and kinematic (description of motion) principles can be applied to improve movement skill technique and equipment design to maximise performance and/or reduce injuries. A practical-focused learning design will allow students to apply mechanical concepts to identify and describe why the body moves in certain ways.
