Our archival collection is available to the general public as well as staff and students of the University. There are a number of ways to access the material held at the Charles Sturt University Regional Archives.
All members of the public are very welcome to visit us. We are located on the South Campus of Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga. Our staff are available to help you locate relevant records to assist you in your research and will retrieve items from the collection, subject to access conditions.
The use of digital cameras and scanners is permitted in our Search Room but please check with staff before proceeding as some collections are subject to copyright restrictions. There are also copying facilities available in our Search Room for a small fee.
If you are unable to visit us in Wagga Wagga, our Reference Archivist is available to provide advice on collections and assistance with research via phone, email or post. In making a formal request for research, you should include all relevant details, including what you already know and what records you have tried - the more information the better. This will help to focus our attention on how we can assist you and will avoid duplicating what you already have.
A research fee will be charged in the following manner:
A flat fee of $22 for a standard research enquiry where exact dates and references are provided; or
An hourly fee of $55 for a lengthy or complex research enquiry where no exact dates or references are provided.
We will advise you of any costs involved before proceeding with your enquiry. Credit card facilities are available for payment.
State government agencies, regional organisations and individuals are welcome to contact us to discuss donating or depositing material with the Regional Archives.
