Our archival collection is available to the general public as well as staff and students of the University. There are a number of ways to access the material held at the Charles Sturt University Regional Archives.

Visit Us

All members of the public are very welcome to visit us. We are located on the South Campus of Charles Sturt University in Wagga Wagga.

Our staff are available to help you locate relevant records to assist you in your research and will retrieve items from the collection, subject to access conditions.

The use of digital cameras and scanners is permitted in our Search Room but please check with staff before proceeding as some collections are subject to copyright restrictions.

There are also copying facilities available in our Search Room for a small fee:

  • Printing/Photocopying: $0.50 per A4 page
  • Digital copying: $1.00 per image/document

Enquiries via phone, email or post

If you are unable to visit us in Wagga Wagga, our Reference Archivist is available to provide advice on collections and assistance with research via phone, email or post.

Please be aware that enquiries needing in-depth research by our Reference Archivist may attract a fee. We will advise you of any costs involved before proceeding with your enquiry.

To make a formal request for research:

Write to our Reference Archivist (post or email is preferable to over-the-phone). Let us know what information you are searching for.

You should include all relevant details, including what you already know and what records you've tried - the more information, the better. This will help to focus our attention on how we can assist you and avoids duplicating what you already have.

For lengthy enquiries, we will charge a research fee of $55 per hour. We require payment by cheque or money order, made out to Charles Sturt University.

A request for extracts from these collections may attract a smaller fee of $33 per hour:

  • Riverina Media Group collections (incl. The Daily Advertiser)
  • Riverina Anglican Diocese collections
  • Wangaratta Anglican Diocese collections
