Publication Support Grants

Aim

To support dissemination of scholarly research and increase impact by supporting Graham Centre Members to submit their research for publication in high-impact journals.

Closing date

Applications for Publication Support Grants will be accepted at any time.

Value

Variable. Applicants must provide justification for the amount requested and necessity for seeking Graham Centre support for these costs. Note that there is limited funding available, therefore partial funding may be offered.

Eligibility

Who can apply?

  • Full and Associate Members of the Graham Centre who are academic staff of CSU or employed in a research capacity with NSW DPI are eligible to apply.
  • Student Members are also encouraged to apply.
  • Preference will be given to members who have projects administered by the Graham Centre.
  • Affiliates and Adjuncts are not eligible to apply.

Guidelines

(a)  Members may submit more than one application in a calendar year. Each application must be on a separate application form

(b) Applications may be made in advance of submission to publisher OR prior to acceptance of the paper. Any approval for funding will be contingent on evidence of acceptance from the publisher

(c) Applications should indicate how the publication aligns with the Centre’s Research Pathways

(d) A copy of the full article (where available) should be submitted with your application. An abstract will be accepted with the application if the full article is not yet available

(e) This scheme should not be used when funds are available from another source. All applications should indicate whether other sources of funding support have been investigated, and what those are

(f) Articles must be intended for peer-reviewed journals included on a current ERA list. Funds will not be provided to support papers in predatory journals

(g) For articles in Open Access publishing, please review CSU’s Library Resource Guides: Open Access, Where to Publish and Open Access eBooks. For more information about managing article processing charges, visit the Australasian Open Access Strategy Group website

(h) Justification for the journal selection and its ranking will be required. This can be through providing information from (for example):

  • Web of Science category and rank
  • Scimago Journal and Country rank information (uses SCOPUS database)
  • Google Scholar metrics

For more information, please visit the Library’s website or seek assistance from the Faculty of Science Senior Client Services Librarian.
