Visiting scientists bolster international links

Dr Guoyan Pan and Associate Professor Yangong Du, China are visiting scientists to the Graham Centre working with Dr De Li Lu during 2015.Two visiting scientists will work closely with Graham Centre member and NSW Department of Primary Industries researcher Dr De Li Lu over the coming months. Dr Guoyan Pan, College of Water Resources and Hydoelectric Engineering, China and Associate Professor Yangong Du, Northwest Institute of Plateau Biology of Chinese Academy of Science, Qinghai Province, China received China Scholarship Council's scholarships to fund their travel and research in Australia.

During her stay, Dr Pan will use the APSIM model and downscaling method to stimulate the effects of climate variability and water management on forage cultivars in the North China Plain, an important grain production area and major animal husbandry region in China, while Associate Professor Du will work on grassland nitrous oxide flux simulation and mitigation strategies by the carbon and nitrogen cycle process model.
